I'm trying to write a novel and I could use some help...?

I'm attempting to write a sci-fi novel that takes place between 30 and 40 years into the future. My problem is I can't decide on the city to place it in, or if I should create a new city. I am trying to set it a futuristic Boston, but I have never been to Boston and I'm not sure if this would be an issue. Thoughts?
