Should I be careful?

I have a partner who is really awsome, but when he gets mad he gets really violent. A couple of days ago he got mad at me and threw his phone at his wall and broke it. He blamed me for it. In another occasion, I was playing arround with him and he got mad and hit me. Then there was one time when I was cooking for us and he got mad for some reason and pushed me into the kitchen pantry. other than that he's an awsome guy! I'm a year younger than him so maybe its my fault for being a little imature, he is mature for his age. What should I do?
